Food With Health in Crisis
A New and Healthy Way of Eating in Venezuela
Healthy food pyramid. This was a class I saw, I don't remember well, but it was in elementary school, a few years ago. At that time, it was just a matter of passing a lesson related to food and it even included drawing a food pyramid. Just boring concepts that did nothing to stimulate learning about healthy eating or questioning how we feed ourselves. As we move into the 21st century, where information is no longer limited to scholars locked in classrooms and we can even question in seconds any theory that interests us, food has become an important topic for people.
I do not have a specific food pyramid for daily nutrition. In Venezuela, the arrival of the leftist ideology to power and all the economic, social, political, and structural disasters it has caused has forced many of us to rethink our way of feeding ourselves. This, most of the time has been forced by the economic shortages we suffer in this country. I will not delve into this topic, I will only add that these forced changes have positively placed us, in a way of living the daily diet with the intake of more natural products.
The main change that my family was forced to make was the elimination of soft drinks and those that are prepared only with a sachet and water. We were fanatics of these drinks and being forced to give them up, added to the lack of other foods rich in proteins and carbohydrates, brought us as an immediate benefit, an important weight loss. The inclusion of many vegetables, cereals, and fruits in our diet has left us with a healthier eating lifestyle.
In our daily meals, we have become accustomed to including a lot of salads and vegetables and although my children did not like them very much at first, little by little they have been accepting these foods better. We still consume red and white meats, but not with the frequency and quantity of before. One food that we now consume more frequently is fish, which has proven to be one of the healthiest meats.

In these last few months, due to my advances in this magnificent Blockchain and the possibility of obtaining some income that we previously did not count on, it has allowed us to increase the consumption of these healthier foods. This is something I must recognize and be grateful for. But despite being able to have a little more money, we have not fallen into temptation to return to the old habits of unhealthy foods even junk food. One thing we have been able to enjoy, is the home preparation of hamburgers and hot dogs, without the inclusion of the quick-fix ingredients that are available on the street. Besides how healthy they are, being able to share them at home and with the family is unparalleled.
We continue to work on this magnificent Blockchain that allows us to grow in many ways and aspects, such as financial, educational, social, and technological. The success and growth in this Blockchain give us the opportunity not only to have resources to feed ourselves better but also a lot of information and ideas to improve even more in our lives. We have that to be thankful for. And I do it here in this publication.
This post is of my authorship and I express in it, my experiences and learnings every day in this Blockchain. All images are edited by me and correspond to captures made on my PC and the sources are indicated in each case. If you like it, you can leave a comment or opinion and your favorable vote.
