Welcome back to another week of homesteading news. There's lots of activity in the homesteading community as spring heads into summer in the northern hemisphere. I'm looking forward to seeing what will be growing through those summer months.

Things happening in the community.

There's lots happening in the @natralmedicine community. First a quick reminder if you're in the community there are a few days left to complete the community survey and add your feedback and input into how the community runs. Then the Indonesian medicinal plants challenge will be coming to a close over the weekend. If that's not your thing, then perhaps you'd like to join in with the detox contest from @miriannalis.

Some highlights of the week

I think we can often go into homesteading with the idea that we can produce everything ourselves on our homestead. The reality is that it's rarely possible and community is crucial. I can almost feel the stress lifting as @trucklife-family discusses the herbs she's harvesting and preparing as part of a community in which they can focus on their areas of strength and passion.

I know crop rotation is important, but it can also be hard to know where to start, especialy if you don't grow a wide range of crops. I find articles, like @thebigsweed's, showing crop rotation plans in action help to give me a little more clarity and confidence in my planting decisions.

I'm sneaking in this great little bit of horticultural facts and tips on growing and using pears from @bulldog-joy. Aren't those photos gorgeous!

I love this article from @buckaroobaby on making goat's milk yoghurt. She covers practically every question you might have about the whys and wherefores, including what's normal and what isn't.

Each week one of our featured authors will be selected to be a 5% beneficiary of The Lotus Garden newsletter. This week @trucklife-family will receive this award.

Thank you for stopping by. This week's newsletter was brought to you by @minismallholding.
