Lifestyle is referred to the characteristics of inhabitants, groups of a specific regional, cultural and religious text at a particular place and time. Lifestyle includes the day to day functions and behaviors of individuals in job, fun, activities and diet. In recent decades, life style as an essential part of our health is more interested by most researchers. According to WHO (world health organization), about 60% of related factors that affect our individual health and quality of life are correlated to lifestyle. Millions of individuals around the world live an unhealthy lifestyle. Hence, they encounter disabilities, illnesses and some times death. Life threatening problems like metabolic joint and skeletal problems, hypertension, cardio-vascular diseases, overweight, violence and so on, can be as a result of an unhealthy lifestyle or way of life. The correlation between of lifestyle and health should be highly considered. As individuals we often experience positive or negative occurrences in life as a result of how we structure and pattern our lives. Malnutrition, smoking, unhealthy diet, alcohol consuming, stress, drug abuse and so on, are the fruits of unhealthy lifestyle. Besides, the lives of people face with new challenges, some health situation not only becomes a major challenge to their physical health but their mental health. For instance, the emerging of new technologies within the IT sector such as the virtual communication networks and internet can create a major challenge that threatens the physical and mental health of individuals around the world. The challenge is the misuse and overuse of the technology. According to the existing studies, it is said that: lifestyle has a significant influence on our physical and mental health as human being. There are various forms of such influences. Consanguinity is a dominant form of life style that it leads to the genetic disorders. Restructuring this unhealthy life style is a preventive measure for reducing the rate of genetic diseases. Key factors that can be suggested for healthy lifestyle: Diet and Body Mass Index (BMI): this is the greatest factor in lifestyle and it has a positive and direct relationship with health. Inadequate diet and its consequences like obesity is the common health problem in the urban societies, increasing problems like cardiovascular Exercise: in treating general health problems, exercises are included in lifestyle. Exercise along with a healthy diet guarantees a healthy lifestyle. Sleep: another bases of healthy life is sleep. Sleep can't be apart from life. Sleep disorders have several psychological, social, economical and health consequences, sleep has a clear influence on mental and physical health. Substance Abuse: addiction is an unhealthy lifestyle. Hard drugs, smoking and using other substance may result in various problems; asthma, cardiovascular disease, brain injury, cancer. Recent studies has shown that in Iran, 64% of males and 43% of females experience the use of hubble-bubble. A longitudinal study also shows that 30% of people between 18–64 years old smoke cigarette permanently. Medication abuse: this is a common unhealthy form of using medication in Iran. Unhealthy behaviors in using medication are as followed: self-treatment, using medications without prescription, prescribing the large number of each drug, prescribing too many drugs, unnecessary drugs, disregard to the contradictory drugs, not explaining the effects of drugs. Study is regarded as the exercise of ones soul. Study as a factor in lifestyle may lead to an improvement on our physical and mental health. For instance, prevalence of dementia, such as Alzheimer. Study helps to slow down the process of dementia. With a look at existing studies in health domain, some key factors has been suggested for healthy life style. In regard to each factor, the systematic planning on how to live accordingly can guarantee a social and individual healthy lifestyle.
