How meditation works and Who can do it?

**Meditation** is a way to get to know ourselves better, to be closer to our true Self. By practicing meditation, we get to know and gain a clear inner sense of what we are not, what is redundant, what we need to be liberated from, to which we often attach great, even fateful importance. **By working in this way on ourselves, distinguishing the essential from the irrelevant, the pure from the dirty, the eternal from the transient, the truth from the untruth, we attain inner freedom, and this creates a deeper peace within us.**

## How Meditation works There are certain stages of meditation. It starts with practicing mindfulness, or as the language of yoga calls it **pratjahara**. Thus we calm the surface levels of the mind, seeking to observe them with the attitude of the inner observer. That testimony to the thoughts that cross our minds is an essential and unavoidable practice of meditation. Without this we cannot go into deeper states of consciousness, because our thoughts will distract us. We think of thoughts as clouds moving in the sky. They cease to be sticky and we observe them from a safe inner refuge. We try not to attach any importance to them, whether they are pleasant or ugly, essential or irrelevant to us. **When the flux of thought by exercising mindfulness calms down, occasionally in the field of consciousness you are witnessing is a glimmer of vision.**

Meditation is quite healthy. It helps us to escape the accumulated mental toxins, which, when released in the field of consciousness, take on the form of thoughts or visions described above. It is nothing more than a way of relieving the tensions generated. They would, one day, wait for us in another form, like illness or accident, if they had not left the realms of the subconscious mind through meditation. First, we get rid of the acute, superficial tensions, or cliches, as we call them in yoga, and then deeper rooted cliches come to our turn. These are our inner programs, which actually represent our character and determine our destiny. Few are interested in changing that part of themselves. **Therefore, it is a great and natural way of getting rid of suppressed impressions or as we call them in **samskaras** in yoga. That is why meditation is considered today in the world as an excellent preventative and therapeutic method when it comes to stress. It is increasingly used in clinics and its value has been confirmed by numerous clinical studies.**
## Who can do Meditation

Anyone who is stressed, who wants to know the deeper reasons for their stress and the purpose of life in general. No one has taught us this and the trend of today's civilization is to distract us from ourselves, from our essence and true nature. Think of meditation as a homecoming, a place where we can regenerate, strengthen our self and move on, each time a shade wiser. **People are looking for themselves, trying to help themselves, to find such a valuable and necessary peace. Today, when most human values are discredited by those who should serve as an example, people are losing their footing. Maybe this is good, because there is no other way to find a support in yourself. Meditation is one way to achieve this slowly and reasonably. Then we become our master.** *** ### Thanks and stay healthy!!
