From elementary school we have been introduced to Pollution, types and harmful effects to human beings. Pollution occurs when various substances are introduced to the environment, either land, air, ocean and through noise that have harmful end result, thereby damaging the environment.
I will be talking about land pollution in this post today. It is basically caused when a lot of waste materials (solid or liquid) contaminate the soil and by extension the water below the ground level. Oftentimes, you see people dump waste products in certain places for a very long time and it results in decaying and making the quality of the land deteriorated. Apart from the above mentioned point, it also produces a bad odor that the inhabitants of the environment will find it inconducive to live a healthy life.
Land pollution is majorly caused by littering. Littering is the disposal of waste products in the wrong way. When you throw your food wrapper or can out of the window of your car you are contributing to littering the environment. These litters accumulate and contribute to releasing chemicals that pollute the land.
The effects of land pollution include unsafe water for drinking due to the contaminated land and water space. It also leads to a high increase in air pollution due to constant burning of litters.
