Greetings all you lovely Hivers! Let's make Ginger soy tea today. I realized that my tea making technique might be a bit different so let's have a look and see how it compares to your way!
What do you need?
Well obviously you need tea, soy and ginger. Easy enough. But I have ginger in the garden so let's go get some fresh young ginger straight from the ground.
A knife. Well of course you'll need a knife to make tea haha.
And a garden tool? To make tea? Of course. What else would you use to stir your tea cup? ;)
Here's some young garden ginger in its natural environment. Let's not disturb this one and find another older one. Of and yes you can see ginger as it grows partly above ground in some areas.
Yes this one will do just fine. Here is some nice young ginger with dirt on it and stem. Just break off the stem and you've got organic ginger for tea. Just needs a wash.
This is my compost pile. I've just spread some out and then covered the rest with some leaves to keep the smell down. Stinky!
So let's go inside and make some tea already!
Ingredients. So the dried soy milk is locally produced in Phuket town and the tea comes from south Thailand near the Malaysian border. And the ginger? Well you know where that's from.
After a nice shower, the ginger is looking fresh and ready for tea time!
Add soy in a tea spoon.
And some tea in a spoon according to you taste.
The tea is in the strainer. This strainer I brought back from Vietnam where they use them to make coffee. Quite a wonderful little invention which works perfect with tea as well.
Put top of strainer on...
And we're ready for action!
Let's pout some hot water
A full filter. This cup take a bit more than 2 full strainers of tea.
Some very dark tea. Wow is it really that dark?
Give it a good stir. The sound of teaspoons clanging against the glass is a famous Thai sound heard throughout the morning. There are tea stalls everywhere in Phuket it seems.
And there you go! My version of ginger soy tea. I don't add sugar because I'm sweet enough haha. No I just don't like sweet and its not easy to find a place to drink tea that doesn't taste like candy. Luckily I know one or two places that make excellent tea and coffee :0
So what are the benefits of ginger tea?
Everyone knows its good for you but did you know it can improve your health especially with heart problems and blood circulation? Also it helps cure nausea and sore throats. Its an all around good thing to take on a daily basis to keep your health up!
So thanks for making tea with me and I'll go enjoy my cup of tea! How do you make your tea? Feel free to comment below...
As always thanks so much for reading and hope you enjoyed!
