Blueberry Dumplings

WHEN THE HEALTHY VERSION ACTUALLY TASTES BETTER

Yesterday I posted about a failed attempt at making croissants. Make no mistake, even though it was a failure from the croissant point of view, it was still a tasty snack what went down with a nice cup of black coffee . I also mentioned that the dumplings were a success, so here we have it - the 'healthy' dumplings.

Unlike croissants, dumplings come in a variety of hundreds. Some are stuffed, some not. Some are sweet while others are savoury. I attempted to make jam-filled dumplings, except instead of jam I used squashed blueberries. The brown sprinkling was mainly for decoration purposes even though it does add to the taste. It's a kind of low carb coconut sugar.

Success!

I have to say, these tasted even better than the unhealthy version with the jam, sugar and syrup. The coconut sugar also gave it a nice kick that's hard to explain. I suppose I could have used cinnamon too. That's something to try next time.

Peace & Love,

Adé
