Arrived at the Feldbergklinik
Arrived at the Feldbergklinik

Hey travelers,

After a foot disease that I contracted in Thailand, I was admitted to the Asdonk Clinic on my return to Germany, a very excellent and first lymphological clinic in Germany, rehabilitation clinic "Feldbergklinik Dr. Asdonk"  St. Blasien, in the middle of the beautiful Black Forest, that was before a year.

St. Blasien is a spa town with a long tradition, for example the first lung clinic in Germany was here, of course also because of the very healthy mountain air, the clinic is almost 1000m high.

The location on the outskirts of the center of St. Blasien is particularly advantageous for the Feldberg Clinic.

The house is about 500 meters from the town center. St. Blasien is characterized by the double rating as a Kneipp and climatic health resort.

Some impressions of the clinic park......

The former abbey church of the St. Blasien monastery has a total height of 62 meters and was inaugurated in 1783. At that time it was the third largest domed church in Europe. With a span of 36 meters, its dome is currently one of the largest in Europe. The architect Pierre Michel d'Ixnard built the plait style building based on the model of the Pantheon in Rome. The church is used by the Roman Catholic parish of St. Blasius and is the venue for an international cathedral concert series that takes place every summer.

The popular name as "Black Forest Cathedral" does not indicate a bishopric; As a former monastery church, the church, like its predecessor, should actually be called Münster.

Around the dome are many restaurants, coffee shops where you can sit down and just relax.

Hope you enjoyed the walk around the dome in St. Blasien, in part2 we´ll take a look inside.

Have a wonderful day

Tom🤙
