Today I was walking on my treadmill again. I decided to play around with the settings a bit, and increased the elevation halfway through my 45 min walk and compared the calories burnt, with my previous walk.
The increase of 2 in the elevation from 8 to 10 resulted in 11 more calories burnt. (I also walked slightly faster in the beginning, but ended at the same speed as last time)
