You don't have time for healthy meals?

„ I don’t have the time to incorporate more raw foods.“ I have heard that phrase many times and to be honest - I disagree.

Yes, raw food can take up a lot of time if we make dehydrated gourmet meals every day and opt for complex recipes that involve hours of preparation. But the same is true for cooked meals. We can make it as easy and quick or time-consuming as we want.

When I started this lifestyle, I was actually working in a full-time office job while still finding time to go running and join yoga classes, to keep my apartment tidy as well as to plan my move to a new country in my spare time.

Right from the start I focused on lots of fruits over the day. Making smoothies usually takes only a few minutes, the same with cutting up some oranges, opening a mango or washing some grapes which can be faster than warming up any ready-made meals. I used to make a double batch of smoothie in the morning and brought half of it to my office for lunch. Sometimes I also brought some fruits like a melon which was even easier - just slicing it open at lunch time and using a spoon to eat it.

For dinner, I was already into big salads and simply chopped up some lettuce and veggies, mashed some avocado with lemon juice and spices and mixed it all together. This usually took me around 15 minutes. On top, I also didn’t have to spend lots of time on cleaning sticky cooking pots - doing the dishes became so much easier.

On the weekends, I sometimes experimented a bit with different meal ideas and new recipes to widen my horizon. They tended to take more time but were just a little bonus that wasn’t necessary to enjoy and thrive on this lifestyle.

At the end, raw food didn’t take up more time or overly complicated my life - on the contrary, it rather made my meal preparation easier. On top, it gave me more energy and mental clarity to live my life to its fullest.

So, do you still think you don’t have time for raw foods?
