The Magic Of Compounding Your Health [May.02.2020]🅰️📘

https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmXv9QWiAYiLCSr3sKxVzUJVrgin3ZZWM2CExEo3fd5GUS/sep3.png
Hi you all! Yesterday’s post included a list of the activities I am currently doing to compound the health of my mind. I like to think about compounding in terms of reading a book. If you were to read even a couple pages every day that would turn into 730 pages that you wouldn’t have read by the end of the year. The compounded effect of NOT reading those same pages could REALLY negatively effect the outcome of your life don’t you think? Think about that! Now... imagine the compounding yearly accumulation of knowledge you could gather by reading those pages every day! That’s where the magic is... and the outcome can ultimately be astounding! Now here’s the thing I have realized... It’s what you do EVERY DAY that creates the compounding effect. When you skip a health compounding activity even for a day you loose your focus and the momentum you had dwindles. We have all felt this before right? The feeling of excitement when you start something new... and then the dull realization, later on, that wakes you up to the fact that somethings changed about your original enthusiasm and subsequent movement forward. So what happened?! Likely the action that originally was propelling you towards your goals went by the wayside... it started with a day here and a day there and before you know it you loose a week.. which in turn turns into a month! 1/12th of a year and then an actual year goes by like a breeze. That’s how things compound negatively and slip away... we all know what that’s like! IT’S TRULY A TERRIBLE FEELING! And that’s why what you do daily produces compounding results... in all departments of your life. For me it helps to remind myself that it’s what I do every day that makes me who I want to become. “Be Now” is about living to your complete fulfillment rather than a deferral mindset. So scheduling in healthy activity for each aspect of your health is what makes the things real. Self actualization is a daily process. It must happen every day. It’s a practice... So now that you know the secret of how to compound your mind... your mental health... any healthy activities’ results can be compounded for that matter. So do you have any insights about this concept? I would love to hear from you guys and girls about this topic! I look forward to your thoughts and feedback! See you in my next @Actifit report! *wil.metcalfe* Fitness Entrepreneur Certified Personal Trainer @BeachReady @AdventureReady @Actifit @EveryStepCounts @OneMoreNutrition

It took the lockdown to help me cultivate a healthy relationship with healthy food.

*I actually look forward to this compared to pre-lockdown* One of the biggest challenges for me has been the way I view food. For years, I believed I really could eat “whatever I wanted” after a heavy workout. And that might be true, for some or even most people. My issue is that “eat whatever you want” doesn’t pair well with a tendency to over consume in the first place. “Eat whatever you want,” for me, meant inhaling every kind of junk food you can imagine. It’s been a slow, steady process over many years, but I’ve found the key is to change “whatever it is” I want. Making healthy food actually taste good, and making it easier to access than fast food, has been a key part of that. I’m still “eating whatever I want,” but what I want now is a huge head of roasted broccoli and two big scoops of rice with soy sauce. That, to me, has been a bigger change than lifting weights. I continue to be amazed at the way my body has responded to not eating out for two months. It is shocking, even though I already knew what the results would be. Just look at the ingredients on any package of processed food. Salad dressing....taco seasoning that has corn starch and sugar...butter that is really not butter...the list goes on. Most restaurants put this shit in our food and we don't even realize it. I'm not quite sure how I can do this, but I have to really reconsider my travel habits. Being away from home means to some extent relying on processed foods. Eating real food requires time and energy and a kitchen. Anyway, it it amazing to see the difference in myself...sleeping in my own bed, cooking healthy food every day. When this pandemic is over and I start travelling again, I really wonder how I can take this on the road....

The Right Type of Effort

It isn't about controlling others when it comes to power...but making others feels in control when you are around. You don't want to spend a lot of time at the gym or chiseling your body to put other people down. Hell, even on famous animes such as Dragon Ball we learn that we need others in other to succeed bigger challenges. Otherwise, we would have never been able to see the Genkidama or Goku achieving the "Ultra Instinct" without a proper mentor. It's about giving it all without expectations and just the right intentions. ## Are you willing to stay the same? 1. Tell me if you're willing to stay at the same fitness level for a whole new year again 2. Tell me if you really want to see all of your friends getting a perfect body while you stay a couch potato and insecure about your personal image. 3. Tell me if your excuse to give up living a healthy lifestyle will always be "I Don't Have Enough Time To Workout or to Eat Right" If you've answered "No" to some of the things above. Edward Casanova is here to help you succeed in what others may say it is impossible. COVID-19 and 5G Oxygen Deprivation!

Op-Ed by Neenah Payne It can be difficult to connect all the dots in what’s happening with COVID-19. However, when hundreds of thousands of lives are on the line, it is essential to do so. In his April 16 article, ICU Doctors Know Best, Dr. Mark Sircus links to a dramatic video by Dr. Cameron Kyle-Sidell, an emergency room and critical care doctor at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn. He describes the desperate situation doctors in Intensive Care Units and ERs all across America are in now trying to understand how to treat COVID-19 which he has described in other videos as “a new disease”.

A Bountiful Harvest (In Life)

Ever run into one of those people that rarely get sick? That would be me. The common cold would pay a visit a few times a year, and the odd flu every other year or so, but that was about it. I'm not sure how much is genetic, although that may be part of it. When I was in grade school, I don't remember any of the kids suffering from allergies, now it seems to be almost common. Luckily, I've never been allergic to anything, but have always wondered what caused the change in society.
https://blogfiles.wfmu.org/KF/2010/09/nude_farmers_big.jpg
As a kid, we had a visit by a very wise lady from Europe. Always inquisitive, I peppered her with questions about life back in her home country. That's when the real change started. She happened to be an advocate of healthy organic foods as well as the homesteading/DIY/self-sufficiency movement. This amazing woman taught me so much about expanding my mind and exploring new possibilities in the week that she stayed with us. It's incredible when a person steps into your life and leaves a lasting impression that alters your thinking in a good way. That, dear friends, is where I was first exposed to the momentous delicacy known as yogurt. And boy was she pushing it...
https://cdn.pixabay.com/photo/2016/06/07/17/15/yogurt-1442034_960_720.jpg
This woman was hardcore. The stuff looked disgusting and the spoonful offered to me was the OG: plain yogurt. One taste of that and I was done. However, I did sit around and listen to her for hours about the health benefits involved in this new dish. Sharing with me that a huge percentage of the immune system is [in our guts](https://www.newsweek.com/gut-bacteria-immune-system-probiotics-1333541), she suggested that I start with a flavored yogurt, then work my way down to vanilla, and then on to plain. After she left, I put my thirsty mind to work learning all about this new lifestyle. It ended up changing me for the better... Starting small, I first began replacing the regular milk in my breakfast cereal, with acidophilus milk. Little changes add up, right? We had really bad tap water at home, so I went from: tap>spring>purified>distilled water. Then began my first forays into organic foods. Organic yam, sweet potato and banana were added to the diet, people thought I was shopping for my mom, but since I couldn't convince the family to go along with me, it was just for myself. I started a trail of: ice cream>frozen yogurt>yogurt, soda>juice>distilled water with a spray of fruit, coffee>organic herbal tea. After learning about how they affected the body, I started removing all artificial sweeteners from my diet. No more NutraSweet, aspartame, sucralose (Splenda), etc. Surprised that decaf coffee contains [small amounts of caffeine](https://www.thespruceeats.com/what-does-decaf-mean-765691), I found that flavorful teas were better for me and began to watch those trips to [Dunkin Donuts!](https://www.caffeineinformer.com/complete-guide-to-dunkin-donuts-caffeine-content). Since my family lacked much in the form of resources, she covered supplements and their contribution to overall health. My diet was altered gradually, to avoid sudden shocks to the system. This all happened in the nick of time as my life was about to change once again. # The mother of them all
https://cdn4.iconfinder.com/data/icons/coronavirus-glyph/64/cold-flu-sick-chill-shivering-fever-512.png
I came down with the flu. Which was surprising, because I rarely got it. But this was no ordinary garden variety flu, this was an affliction for the ages. I've never been this sick in my entire life. It manifested itself in nausea like I've never felt before along with many trips to the bathroom. The highest fever ever recorded by me and dizziness at the slightest motion which left me bedridden, while suffering from the chills. Boy, lemme tell you about them chills. They began at the soles of my feet, and my entire body would tremble all the way up to my head. This would happen roughly every ten minutes, which interrupted my sleeping and left me feeling totally exhausted. As a teen, I was at my Grandmothers house, and when my mom was informed, she refused to believe that I was that sick. Back to me in bed, imagine every little movement causing the room to spin around. I'd close my eyes in order to try and stop it, yet when I opened them again I was still turning swiftly as if I were floating in the water above a sink drain. Food lost it's natural taste and smell, everything tasted like metal and electricity and smelled that way as well, so I had no appetite. Eating eggs for instance, was like biting into fools gold. Eventually, I got so weak I couldn't make it to the bathroom downstairs, so they brought the bathroom to me. Unable to convince mom that I was really ill, she refused permission for me to get any medical assistance at all. After three long days, I could no longer take lying in bed and was moved to the living room floor to combat the motion-sickness. I also asked the adults if they could legally kill me as I'd gone three days without sleep and wanted the misery to end. Knowing I wasn't serious, they laughingly refused, and just as my Grandmother was about to ignore my mother's admonition that I was faking and rush me to the hospital, the fever began to break. Two days later, I was heading back to normal. I got the flu only once more while in the Navy, and then never again. Medical professionals have said that it's possible that since I didn't get treatment back then, my body had to fight off the flu on it's own and the ordeal may have built up some protection for me. That, combined with any possible genetic quirks and the adoption of a healthy diet, may all have worked in my favor. # When the student is ready...

I'm thankful to that wise European lady for giving me the tools to make better choices for a healthy life. The important thing I realized is that knowledge is power and none of this had to be done overnight. I did my due diligence and found out she was right. Applying these lessons has improved my quality of life, and I hope this post inspires you to do the same. If you've found value in what I've shared, please leave a comment below. What life lessons have you added to your health toolkit? Have you had that special someone, enter your life and change it for the better? FITNESS2020 WEEK18 DAY 4 CHALLENGE by @davidke20

https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/olivia08/steahLpO-inbound5074311120284219619.jpg
### Saturday is a busy day, again and again, every day. But we need to be healthy to keep on going our life safely. This is the challenge of @davidke20: ### https://peakd.com/hive-101690/@davidke20/knrdvell He is terrifying his #fitness2020 challenge and I'm the only supporter. I'm inviting everyone to join me. Just a simple move, doing your work like me and make a video, then post. I believed, hard work paid off. Look at me, I'm 50 years young and thanks to God I'm still kicking and grinding almost 24 hours. Don't get bored and make things possible positively. Keep away from negation that will drove us under the ground. The more we get lost the ability to do better things ahead. Keep believing in yourself. We can do it. My principle is that, as long as it is man-made, I could make it too. Hit the goals and there's no room to be lazy in my side. Above all, increase our faith in God. Make the best relation to HIM and 100% HE WILL NEVER FORSAKE US! God will make a way when there seems no way. And remember always, **we are the author to our own destination and it is God who will guide us.** What are we waiting for? We have the challenge in life and lately the pandemic. What should we do? I just imagine how people respond to a challenge. Even a simple challenge, people never mind it. Anyway, I'm just sharing my thought, and thank you for reading. Ramadan Kareem to all Muslims and all brothers and sisters. I'm now in my 8 days of fasting. It is also another way of my spiritual challenge that will help my physical health fit. For you to know, my employer's family are really good, decent, and educated. Most of all they are generous type people. I'm saying this to let the whole know that not all Arabs are bad people. 22 years of staying in this clan are enough for me to define and distinguish who they are in common. By the way, my Day 4 submission is here: ### https://gopro.com/v/o6GZddwLBVaKg My Whitey is always with me for #dailypetphotography by @dpet.

During this period most persons tend to eat and sleep. One fire key to good health is to exercise our bodies. ### Do we have fitness apps? There are many fitness apps for our smartphones which allow you exercise in the comfort of your room and have good exercise. Another good thing about exercise is the fact that you tend to keep your body in a very good shape. When you workout you are more smart and you reduce the risk of having stroke because there's constant flow of blood in your body. Challenge yourself to exercise daily for a better and healthy life. ### Second day Achievement For my second day I challenged myself to completing 15 exercises in a short duration. I can tell you I feel good and healthy. I hope I don't get to visit the hospital again soon after a rough last month.
