Healthy Activism

What are some guidelines for Healthy Activism?

93DDA1AA-F483-401E-A4CB-CBAD1F4AF023.jpeg

I was high up on a mountain when I discovered this was my part of my life purpose. I’ve seen too many toxic activists in my day- heck, I’ve been one before. But I’m tired of being the problem. Now is the time to be part of the solution. And for me, the solution -healthy activism- is based in love, and flirts with self care, earth care, and people care. It’s powered by innovation, communicated with respect, and is always consensual. Nothing is forced, no one is being judged or demonized, and a long term perspective is encouraged, to remind us that this world is evolving. There’s no guilt, no fear mongering, and no hate. There’s just a desire to make this world a better place, for everyone. Did I miss anything?

Importance of Collagen.

Community of @steemit, collagen is a substance that intervenes in the formation of bones, cartilage and skin. It is necessary for human and animal health, and therefore is present in the body. We must know that the older we get, the less collagen remains in our body, this is a normal and natural process: as a result, the bones become more fragile, joint pain appears and wrinkles appear on the skin. Collagen improves metabolism and accelerates muscle growth. By taking collagen with vitamin C, it can help the body convert collagen into protein, which will be used to restore energy and muscle structure. Collagen increases the effectiveness of exercise. The first advantage of daily collagen consumption is that it contributes to the formation of muscle mass (of course, if its quantity is sufficient). This means: You need to exercise less to keep your muscles in shape and burn fat. Your body will recover much faster after an intense physical effort. You will be less likely to suffer injuries, since the muscles will be strong and resistant. Collagen prevents stretch marks. Surely you will have noticed that most of the cosmetic products that promise to deal with stretch marks on the skin are composed of collagen. This is due to the fact that this substance contributes to the regeneration of the skin and the formation of new cells without damaging the tissue. If your skin is prone to acne and other damages, you should include collagen in your daily diet. You can also use masks to eliminate scars and acne marks. Collagen improves the health of the joints. Taking collagen every day is to maintain the flexibility of the joints and provide them with a natural lubrication and cares for the health of the cartilage. When you have healthy joints, you can move easily and you are more flexible. So you do not risk injury due to careless movements. But if you notice that your joints creak all the time, the pain has arisen or if something has broken by itself, you should include this product in your diet. The collagen maintains the elasticity of the skin. The structure of the skin depends to a large extent on the amount of collagen. With age, the skin loses its elasticity, wrinkles appear and several "imperfections" (pigmentation). Collagen helps you feel fuller longer. Another advantage of daily collagen consumption is its ability to restore the elasticity of blood valves and lymphatic vessels. Collagen prevents cardiovascular diseases. Another advantage of daily collagen consumption is its ability to restore the elasticity of blood valves and lymphatic vessels. This means that the body cleans much faster and more easily, and the likelihood of lowering blood pressure decreases. Collagen improves eyesight. With regular consumption of collagen, the condition of the cornea improves considerably. Therefore, collagen is highly recommended for those who wear glasses, as well as for those who have found signs of glaucoma. To maintain collagen in the body you should consume high quality proteins, for example, lean meat and fish. In addition to the inclusion of collagen in your diet, you should also avoid the consumption of unhealthy fats. In addition, it is necessary to pay attention to the effects of certain factors, such as tobacco smoke, UV rays, chemical products and environmental pollution, and, if possible, mitigate and compensate them. Do not forget to include products that improve vision (carrots, for example) in your diet and that also protect your eyes from ultraviolet rays and pollution. The best option to provide your body with collagen: through the foods consumed. It should be as natural as possible: Green vegetables (broccoli, cabbage, spinach, lettuce), Sardines, Cucumbers, Strawberries, Chicken, Fish and Oysters. Another option - collagen in powder form, in capsules or tablets. This is better than nothing, so if you know that your body lacks this element, be sure to take supplements. The formation of collagen structure begins in connective tissue cells - fibroblasts: amino acids form separate sections of chains that create spirals. Tissue cells are eliminated by these molecules beyond their limits, and there the molecules form stable structural fiber compounds that form a grid that keeps the skin layer in shape. The fibers not only stretch, but also return perfectly to their original position, which gives the skin elasticity and firmness. The importance of collagen is high, since in the dermis (this is one of the layers of the skin) the percentage of its fibers reaches 80. The formation of collagen, as already mentioned, is directly related to changes in the body related to age. It is impossible to make the skin work in the intensive regeneration mode, such as at an early age. But it is possible to prevent and slow down its aging too quickly and protect against harmful factors. Collagen, even with a molecular structure capable of penetrating the depths of the skin to a considerable depth, can not completely fill the natural level. The solution is the use of amino acids in the cream, which form collagen molecules. They have a low molecular weight, reach the deep layers of the skin and contribute to the formation of "native" collagen in the body.

Beans & Crice! - Part II

https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmSzPuT4QWXHAvcySbeWLdx9HoACeEY8pHaMRhNKkhYeNB/BNC.png
Welcome back my fellow revolutionists! This is one of two fillings we'll be using for the final zucchitilla tacos recipe, which will be posted at the end of this series. If you'd like to see Part I, be sure to check out: https://steemit.com/revolution/@revolutionstcafe/pancho-villa-zucchitillas

BNC.png

The recipe is very simple and what makes it so delicious is that—if done right—you won't be able to tell that you're enjoying a starch-less food (i.e., you won't miss the rice). As you may or may not know, starches turn to sugar the moment they go into your stomach. Unless you need the carbs as a post-workout food, there is little to no use for eating starches, especially on a daily basis. The more you can cut them out of your daily intake, the better off your glucose and fat levels will be.

CR&B3.png

Ingredients: 12 oz - Cauliflower (riced) 1 lb - Pinto Beans (canned in water) 1/2 tsp - Salt (Kosher or Himalayan) 1/2 tsp - Black Pepper Cooking Ingredients: 1 tbsp - Coconut Oil Instructions: 1 - Add the coconut oil to a large non-stick pan on medium heat 2 - Add in the riced cauliflower, salt and pepper 3 - This is the most important step! Stir occasionally while the cauliflower gets a nice toasted brown color, but don't let it burn. The more toasted the cauliflower gets, the better the flavor. Not toasting it enough will result in a strong cauliflower flavor, which simply doesn't work with the beans

Crice.png

4 - You can rinse the beans thoroughly and add into the pan with a bit of water. I use them as is. Depending on if the beans came in salt water or non-salted, feel free to add or remove salt to taste 5 - Mix everything, lower heat to simmer, cover and let it cook for about 15 to 20 minutes

6 - Enjoy as a side or as an all-veggie, gluten-free filling in the zucchitilla tacos coming soon!

There is no alternative to healthy eating. You must research it, prep it and cook it yourself. The evidence is overwhelming that we are what we eat; that our minds are shaped by the foods we consume. There are no hidden ingredients or added sugars or oils. Keeping it simple is key to feeling the desire to continue doing it. Just cooking one of my recipes will give you the motivation to cook another and another until your craving of processed foods diminishes substantially. It may never go away but at least its power over you will lessen as scientifically engineered foods are designed to hyper-activate your pleasure receptors...not exactly a fair fight. Our greatest protest against corporate and government foods (dairy, grains, sugar) is to STOP purchasing them and START cooking with natural ingredients to make deliciously healthy meals. It's a fine balance to make something healthy and delicious. I am living proof and am here to help you along the way. Let's begin our cooking revolution! My contribution to the revolutionist movement will be to turn the recipes I post on this blog into The Revolutionist Cookbook and eventually open a restaurant where only cryptocurrency is accepted. Where tipping won’t be necessary as everyone will be paid full salaries and where simple and healthy ingredients will meet delicious cuisine. Like open source code, all of my recipes will be available to the public in full detail and any improvements offered will be embraced and possibly added to the menu in their perfected form. Any donations to the cause are much appreciated either by up-vote or wallet of choice below. Finally, I did the 10k count.... Yupeee But such a day it was, my day today got started early because I had to be woke as early as 4:30am. And as dull as I was only got off bed only to do some ironing for these 4 kids to get to school. I was still dozing off beside the ironing. But all went well after almost half an hour on them. I quickly run to the shower and visited a week celebration of a noble man. I had to be going up and down since I am a family. So I guess the Roaming all day even though I sometimes forget to let my back light on, so I missed a lot but am glad I made the 10k count at last. Say No To Boring Salads: Spice Things Up With Edible Flowers & Foraging

https://files.steempeak.com/file/steempeak/walkerland/Yqv7v9HA-IMG_6549.jpg

IMG_6549.jpg

I love salads! Wandering around the gardens finding interesting edible ingredients to add to our daily salad is one of those things that I look forward to every day throughout summer. Salads don't have to be boring. In fact, with so many ingredients to choose from they should be exciting! Skip the iceberg lettuce and reach for something more nutritious and nourishing for the mind and body. We use all sorts of things to make up the leafy greens including kale, chard, nasturtium, dandelion greens and more! #### Today the base of our salad used kale and the remaining ingredients included: Peony petals Oregano (flowers and leaves) Pansies Nasturtium (flowers and leaves) Kale flowers Chive blossoms plus some chives Oxeye Daisy Pink Clover Basil This salad is packed with flavor while also being fresh, vibrant and full of nutrition. We work hard on the homestead and a wild and cultivated diet helps keep us strong and healthy. By eating such a varied diet we feel healthier and of course with the wild greens we are getting plenty of important digestive bitters that are often missing in store bought greens. This makes my body really happy. Plus, everything we put on the table looks so pretty. The salad was tossed in a [simple and healthy & easy to make salad dressing]( https://www.walkerland.ca/easy-two-minute-salad-dressing-recipe/) using our [homemade apple cider vinegar](https://www.walkerland.ca/how-to-make-apple-cider-vinegar/) / [Fire cider concoction.](https://www.walkerland.ca/charlottes-fire-cider-tonic-recipe/)

Feedback on latest project - https://www.foodonearth.com

Hello community! I trust everyone has been well. Haven't had a chance to post in a while but everything has been going great. I started a new job and they asked me to make them a website. If anyone has any feedback for me I would really appreciate it. I truly value the opinion of many of the members of this community and would love to hear what some of you think, if you have time. We are a healthy vending company based out of Massachusetts. The site isn't anything amazing, just something built with the "New" 2-3 year old Google Sites. I like it simply because it optimizes for both desktop and mobile, resizing images automatically on the fly. Other than that it isn't the greatest to be honest. Anyway, let me know what ya'll think! https://www.foodonearth.com

We just got the image to display as we wanted it to, our next step is editing the flavicon so that it has a transparent background. If anyone is able to do that let me know :D. I have a chromebook so photoshop is a no-go for me.
