It’s easy to make fatty dishes taste great. I get it. I have also enjoyed my share of high-fat raw gourmet dishes and loved how they tasted. But I also experienced the aftermath of bad skin, digestive issues and a cloudy mind.
And at the end, I decided that it’s not worth it for me - I choose to fully nourish my body with low-fat meals every day which make me feel so much better and helped me tremendously on my healing journey (especially for my skin).
But I am also such a foodie and don’t want to miss super delicious meals. Luckily low-fat doesn’t mean low in flavour, we just have to get a bit more creative to make it exciting, nourishing and healthy at the same time.

And with so many things in life, it just takes a bit of adjustment, experimentation and learning to embrace this low-fat lifestyle.
After all, fats are not bad. Yet as a society (including many of those on a vegan and raw food lifestyle) we tend to greatly overdo it and add fats to almost every meal. If this low-fat approach is all pretty new to you and you don’t know where to start, here are a few tips to lower the amount of fat you consume during the day:
- Exchange the granola, nuts or seeds on your smoothie bowl for fresh fruits
- Exchange nut milks for banana milk (blended water with banana)
- Keep your fruit meals and smoothies free of added fats
- Choose low-fat sauce recipes for your dinner meals
- Avoid adding extra nuts, seeds or avocado as salad topping
- Prepare meals yourself, there are often lots of hidden fats in ready-made meals or when eating out
And the best way to explore a new way of eating is through super delicious recipes. Follow me for more delicious, healthy inspiration.
I wish you a vibrant day!
