Hey guys. I'm continuing the health posts for foods that are great for your brain. So far we have discussed cocoa and sardines along with their benefits. Today I will be talking about a third food to add to your list for a healthy brain. Lets get to it... Today's health food that is great for your brain is Yogurt. Yogurt has great beneficial bacteria. Two main types include Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus. Both of these beneficial bacteria help support a healthy balance between good and bad microbes in the gut. And the gut plays a very important role in the importance to the health of the brain. Roughly 90% of the body's serotonin is made in the digestive tract. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that regulates mood and behavior. Low serotonin levels are associated with depression and mood disorders, including ADHD, anxiety, and schizophrenia.
