Healthy Eating: Water is Life!!

**Hello dear friends!** We continue with healthy eating... As the main element I want to talk about WATER, a resource that allows humans, animals and the earth itself to live. Now let's talk about its importance in our organism. The first thing we should keep in mind is that water represents 60%-70% in our body, it is everywhere, in our cells, blood, and other parts of our body.

Water fulfills various functions in our body, for example, helps the process of digestion, acts as lubricants in different parts of the body, transports nutrients, helps us transport oxygen, helps the elasticity of the skin, helps in the elimination of toxins, among others. We should consume approximately 3% of our weight, or 2 liters in most cases. Now, **¿as we lose this water ?** The water in our body is constantly lost when we breathe, when we urinate, evacuate, cry, sweat, so it is important to stay hydrated, also not only lose water but electrolytes such as sodium, potassium, calcium, among others. We lose approximately 2-5 liters. It is important to replace those lost liquids so as not to fall into dehydration. Most of us who do not consume enough water are always in a state of dehydration but mild.

What should we do to stay hydrated? Well, drink enough water or as recommended and eat foods such as soups, broths, fruits, vegetables, which contain a lot of water. The exact amount will depend on many factors, whether they do any sport, weight, sex, age, climate.
