Eat more soluble fibre Especially soluble fibres. Soluble fibres absorb large quantities of water and slow down the passing of food through the digestive tract. Soluble fibre is found in oat bran, barley, nuts, seeds, beans, lentils, peas, and some fruits and vegetables. 2. Go to bed earlier Sex and Prayer For Better Sleep - Essence Going to bed sooner doesn’t just help you avoid late-night snacking. Missing out on a full night’s rest slows down your body’s metabolism, so if you want to increase your calorie burn, plan on getting at least seven hours of sleep. 3. Avoid the things that causes stress Can You Feel Stress Hormones Being Released? For some of you, you’re gaining weight because of stress but you don’t know it yet. Stress causes the overproduction of a hormone called cortisol. Once your cortisol levels have increased, there’s a reduction in your sugar levels so you start to crave fatty and sugary foods. You start to binge eat on these things and you keep gaining weight. 4. Eat foods that contain probiotics Consuming foods that contain probiotics (aka live “good” bacteria) can help reduce belly bloat caused by an overabundance of “bad” flora in your gut. Eating dairy with probiotics will help to ease digestive woes that can cause bloating. Some pharmacies sell probiotic supplements. 5. Drink more water Drinking Water for Healthy Hair Being dehydrated causes the body to hoard water leading you to have excess weight around your midsection. Aim for at least eight cups of water or other fluids daily.
