Freewrite Day 545 Gut Reaction

Do you have a reaction in your gut when you eat food? Many people do these days, and it is not pretty. We have up and coming illnesses called “leaky gut” and “celiac” and “SIBO” and many more. You can find groups for all of these illnesses with many confused people trying to figure out why they are sick and how they can get help. Western medicine is failing a lot of these people, and so they turn to support groups and alternative methods to try to feel better. In the early 2000’s when my auto-immune disease was being diagnosed, I was lucky enough to have a doctor tell me to avoid gmo’s since he had patients finding relief that way. Since that time, I have tried hard to avoid that category of “food” and over time, it got harder and harder. If you are not looking and eating the Standard American Diet, (SAD) you are eating gmo’s these days. These products are sprayed with chemicals that do not effect them, but kill bugs by exploding their stomachs. Hmmm…. Leaky Gut might be a manifestation of that. Fast forward to when I lost “half my size” in 2011. The fitness trainer I had at the time told my to eliminate all processed food. This was 90% of what I was eating, so it was no easy feat. But here I sit, eight years later and still thin. I was a fat four year old who never lost weight before, so if a “clean” diet is what I need, this is what I eat.
