Community of @steemit, I really like cocoa and I am pleased to share with you the properties and benefits of cocoa. The seeds of the cocoa tree grow inside a large, thick pod called a pod. Each pod contains about 50 seeds called cocoa beans. Chocolate is produced from these seeds or cocoa beans. These seeds have impressive powers of health and humor. Cocoa with its incredible composition rich in antioxidants, zinc and magnesium, raw cocoa (or bitter) is a true gift of nature, both from the point of view of taste and health. Cocoa beans are the most concentrated natural source of an alkaloid compound, theobromine, a stimulant similar to caffeine. Although it is toxic in large quantities, theobromine generally produces positive effects in the body: it relaxes the muscles of the digestive system, which can reduce gastrointestinal problems and dilate blood vessels, which lowers blood pressure. Cocoa benefits the mood and makes you happy, thanks to the fact that it produces an increase in endorphins. Endorphin is a hormone that the body produces after sports, laughter or sex, and creates a sense of satisfaction, even a slight euphoria. In addition, cocoa powder causes the secretion of serotonin, "the hormone of happiness." Serotonin also creates a sense of well-being, is the hormone directed by antidepressants to increase morale. Cocoa is one of the only foods in the world that contains phenylethylamine. This alkaloid causes the release of endorphins and other hormones comparable to pleasure, including sexual pleasures and romance. Cocoa restores hormonal balance during premenstrual syndrome, thanks to its influence on endorphin and serotonin levels. The benefits of cocoa in menstruation are not limited to mood swings. It is rich in magnesium, an element known for its effectiveness in the fight against cramps. Magnesium in cocoa can be used against all types of cramps and not just uterine cramps. Older people use it to fight calf cramps. Cocoa has flavonols, an anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant beneficial for the heart. These components improve circulation and reduce the risk of heart attack. Cocoa reduces blood pressure. Cocoa powder could fight against aging, since the polyphenols present in bitter cocoa are antioxidants that fight the degradation of cells by free radicals. The cocoa help to have a better capillary and cutaneous health, that is better health of your hair, nails and organs. In addition, cocoa is rich in zinc. Zinc strengthens the immune system and improves the condition of the skin. For example, dietary zinc supplements are used for acne disorders or in the elderly. Bitter cocoa helps to lose weight, thanks to the inhibitors of the monoamine oxidase it contains, a substance known for its antidepressant effect and also has an appetite suppressant effect. Cocoa fights fatigue and fills up energy reserves thanks to the presence of magnesium. It must be clear that the body does not produce magnesium, but consumes it. Therefore, it is very important to consume enough magnesium to stay healthy. The antioxidant properties of cocoa have the effect of reducing insulin resistance in people with impaired glucose tolerance and in smokers. Cocoa is rich in fiber. Dietary fiber facilitates transit, which helps reduce constipation. Cocoa improves cognitive functions, because it improves memory and blood flow in the brain. Cocoa is a source of monounsaturated fats, that is, good fats that help the functioning of the immune system.
