If you have an anxiety disorder you will experience a lot of feelings like you are lost or out of control, scared and nervous. It can become so intense that you will not be able to concentrate on anything else except the feeling of stress and anxiety.
Anxiety can affect different people and of all ages. There are also different types of anxiety disorders and they have different symptoms.
If you experience any of these types of anxieties during certain times and more than ones, it is a good thing to know that you can be helped. It is not an incurable illness and it is also not necessary to suffer because you feel too proud to admit these feelings.
Be honest about them and accept that you need help. If you are not going to get help you will just make your life more difficult and in that way just stress yourself out more.
Anxiety can come on quickly and suddenly and it is a good thing to know how you can handle such an attack if it happens.

If you are in the midst of an anxiety attack, you will most probably get a lot of people telling you the whole time "Just calm down" which in turn is just going to stress you out more, because you cannot get yourself to calm down.
There are a few things you can do to try and calm yourself:
- take a deep breath and look around you and take in what you see - try and focus on at least 5 different objects - breath in for 4 seconds and out for 4 seconds
- touch 4 different objects around you - this will help you to focus on the reality and keep you grounded
- do not contract your muscles - the more you contract or flex it, the more you will feel anxious. Try and loosen your muscles

A lot of people with anxiety disorder choose not to talk about it because they think they are weak or they feel embarrassed and in many instances they blame themselves.
The quicker you realize that none of this is true and it is better to admit it and talk about it, the quicker you will feel that it is not something you have to keep inside and stress more about.
A lot of things can cause anxiety disorders and one of them is that you could have inherited it from your parents. It can also be because the biochemistry of your brain is not balanced. It can also be caused by experiencing traumatic events, but the important thing is to remember it is not your fault or because you did something wrong.
If you feel you are very anxious get some help and make sure you also go for follow up visits and take your medication regular;y. It is also good to live a healthy life and get some exercise.
If you do not want to take medication, there are also some natural ways in which you can fight anxiety
