Be aware of post-flood diseases

Hi Steemian how are you? Hopefully always healthy and creative work. Many regions in Indonesia experience extreme weather. High rainfall caused floods that inundated settlements. Suffering due to flooding is certainly felt by flood victims. This suffering is not only felt when a flood occurs. They still have to face various masses after the flood is over. After the receding they still have to clean up the place to stay. Clean the mud from the house and clean all the submerged household appliance. Dirty water from floods also brings various diseases. Some diseases that are often suffered as a result of floods are coughs, colds, itching, to Leptospirosis.Leptospirosis is a disease caused by Leptospira interrogans bacteria. Bacteria are spread through urine or blood of animals infected with these bacteria including rats. Dirty water during floods becomes one of the fields of transmission of leptospirosis. Flooding water can bring rat urine and transmit leptospirosis to humans through mucous membranes, eyes, nose, cuts to the skin and food. The bacteria enter the body through open mucous membranes, for example wounds on the skin. Symptoms of leptospirosis victims include shivering, coughing, diarrhea, sudden headaches, high fever, muscle aches, loss of appetite, red eyes and irritation, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting and skin rashes.

How to prevent leptospirosis 1. Save food properly The public is urged to keep food and drinks well in order to avoid mice. because if we leave it open, it will be the target of mice. if the mice come and leave the bacteria will cause transmission of leptospirosis 2. Be on my side. When after a flood, the initial rush is definitely cleaning mud or other items at home. do not forget to wash your hands and feet after activities to clean up the remaining flood deposits at home, gutters, and repair of electricity networks. 3. Use boots Many puddles have finished flooding. We have to clean up. But remember to wear high rubber boots and gloves if you have to move in a puddle. 4. Eradicate rat nests. Rats as bacteria spreaders must be eradicated. Remember to use disinfectants in certain parts of the house especially those that indicate there is rat urine which may spread leptospirosis after the flood. Thus all my writing this time may useful for all of us.

Thank you for reading my post. I hope you enjoy it.
