The **liver** is the largest internal organ in human being. It is situated on the right side of the belly. Weighing about 3 pounds, the liver is reddish-brown in color and feels rubbery to the touch. Normally you can't feel the liver, because it's protected by the rib cage. The liver performs complex functions which even the physicians can not list all. Most of the chemical reactions takes place in the liver. If the liver is in good condition, it can take care of the detoxification process of the body on it own in order to help in boosting the immune system that fight against diseases and sicknesses.
The human body is not designed for digestion of meat and salt. This is because the human intestine are usually longer than that of animals. In nutshell, human beings are vegetarians.
