Because the Yogi is one who is self-aware and self-careful
A lot has happened lately.
I can notice that in the past weeks, with the return to the Yoga classes where I live, in Argentina, together with the addition of the Online classes that I already share regularly via Zoom, plus the daily tasks and the writing of the posts, it is sometimes difficult to maintain these spaces where I can share with others those experiences that I am having and those reflections on my practice or that of my students in classes.
And if I keep everything together, without giving myself time to clean my mind, to be well with myself, and to allow myself certain breaks, I would not be taking care of myself properly no matter how much Yoga and Meditation I do.
It happens that sometimes, because we want to do everything, we can stop sleeping, adding stress to our lives and worries. And as my partner says:
We end up plugged into an electrical outlet and never stop spinning.
The good thing is that if we are aware that this is the situation we are going through, we have the wonderful possibility to pause and take care of ourselves.
I think that makes a Yogi more of a Yogi than one who just goes around doing thousands of postures (asanas), without even stopping to realize if the rhythm of life off the mat is the right one or not.
In the end, that's what Yoga is all about, as patanjali explains:
The cessation of the disturbing fluctuations of the mind.
And with the cessation of the disturbing fluctuations of the mind, comes inner peace, tranquility and clear observation of the Self, and of the nature of the Self, which is none other than union with the rest of nature (call it divinity, universe, Tao, God, Allah or whatever you wish).
All this leads me to share the following publication, which is the protagonist of today's Lotus for Yogis post, because although at no time speaks of Yoga, it is valuable for being an opportunity to consider the many forms of self-care that we can have.
And so, in celebration of yogis on HIVE this week! This Yogi get a 5 percent beneficiary this week - @officialuroga For her great post about SELF-CARE.
Really read this whole post with an excellent reflexion about The Self-Care, and why does he thinks that...
"even if you are practicing some of the best stress relief activities the world have to offer and you fail to take care of yourself, it just wouldn't help in anyway".
It's an interesting point of view that I wanted to share with you today.
Thank you for sharing @officialuroga!
In this post, @officialuroga talks about The different types of Self-Care, mentioning for example:
The Physical, Social, Mental, Spiritual and the Emotional self-care.
If you want to read his full post, here you have it.
