11 dead from cannabis at Christmas party, hundreds in hospital

A bad shipment of cannabis... CORRECTION: A bad shipment of wine has caused at least 11 deaths and hundreds of hospitalizations after Christmas celebrations yesterday in the Philippines.

The wine was a local favourite made from coconut tree sap. It was produced and bottled by a legal company that was certified and licensed to do so. Partygoers from around the region flooded local emergency departments soon after Christmas gatherings began on December 24^th. The death toll is expected to climb, as hundreds of people are still seriously ill, and others who have not heard of the tragedy continue to drink the alcohol. (Source: click) Last year, at least 20 people died in the area from similar drinks, all legally produced and sold, all government inspected and approved. Around the world, thousands of people die every year simply from ingesting alcohol. Millions also die from secondary effects of alcohol use, such as accidents, and millions more from alcohol-related illnesses like liver disease, dementia, and cancer. Cannabis CURES cancer, and has never directly killed anyone. It can't.

End cannabis prohibition!

Alcohol use is killing millions of people and costing humanity trillions of dollars per year. It's everywhere, and almost anyone can buy or produce it freely. Cannabis has never killed anyone and could replace the trillion dollar per year chemo/radiation industry. It remains healthy prohibited despite "legalization". DRutter
