Hello. Welcome to my blog at this hour. Guess what? I have packaged a sumptuous Nigeria delicacy recipe for you. If you are a lover of good food then sit back, relax, and enjoy the step-by-step guide on how to prepare Egusi soup. There are two major methods for preparing the Egusi soup, these are the frying and boiling method. Today, I will be sharing with you the boiling method. Fried foods are not healthy for the human body, hence, eating of too much fried foods may cause more harm than good to humans. Therefore, the boiling method of cooking Egusi soup is the advisable option. Egusi soup is a Nigerian soup made with ground melon, it serves as the thickener. Egusi has a lot of nutritional values such as protein, vitamins, fibre, carbohydrates. ###### Ingredients Ground Egusi
Red oil
Seasoning cubes Salt
Meat Cow skin
Crayfish Irú
Pepper & Tomatoes ###### How to prepare - Wash the pepper, tomatoes and onions and grind. Set them aside. - Wash the meat and cow skin till they don't have any dirt and start cooking in a pot - Add some Crayfish, seasoning cube and salt to taste. Mix them together and add some water and allow to cook for about 30 minutes. - While it's cooking, wash your vegetable leave of your choice, either bitterleaf, pumpkin, waterleaf etc and cut into size. Set aside in a sieve to drain the water.
- After about 30 minutes, add some red oil and cook for another 15 minutes. - When the time has elapsed, add the mixture of pepper, tomatoes and onions, add salt if needed. - After about 8 to 10 minutes, add your Egusi and allow to cook. - Add your vegetable leaf, stir and cook for about 10 minutes and it is done.
