Hello havians hope everyone is doing good.

My day went a little bit stressful because I have to prepare my father best meal for him is been awhile I prepare him food so I had to make something that will make him feel me. whenever you want this man to be happy, prepare him this soup and you will get anything you want from him. I noticed that anytime I cook this soup to my father he is always so happy and he will be the one to ask me what do you want.

So today I decided to surprise him.
In our compound we plant all types of vegetables leaves and many more plant. So this particular leaf is one of the leaves in the compound that we don't joke with since it is my father best leaf. It is called "Atama" it taste bitter we all know all African old men love to eat something that is bitter so if you cook to them especially all this leaves that has bitter taste and you wash them as in you wash the bitterness off, they will not like it. This is one of the reasons my father always love it when I cook for him because I do not wash it off but I make sure that bitter is there when I wash.

According to them our fathers, they say this leaf is good for the body as it treat internal heat and keep the body healthy and also boost your immune system. Frequent use of the leaf help reduce temperature for people that has high temperature. This leaf also is medicinal, some people squeeze it and drink for fever some use for the treatment of measles in children and high fever in children others use it for treatment of cough and many another good side of it.

It grows from small stick to a very big mature tree. there's no home in our city you will not find this leaf it is very important.

So I plug it off from the tree remove them from the stem into a tray

Use cutting stick and knife and slice it to this tiny piece.

After which I pour them into a bowl add salt and cold water to it and leave it till when am ready to use it. Some people use hot water to soak it but since the hot water normally kill the bitter taste and make it taste sweet and my father do not like it when it taste sweet so that is the reason I use cold water the cold water will not allow it to wash off the bitterness it will retain the bitter taste.

Wash the water leaf and slice it.

Another thing about my father he does not eat meat in his soup so you putting meat for him is waste of time so no long protocol in his meal.

IMG_20210709_142103_5.jpg
Here is what he want this big smoked fish is what he want in his soup. So I wash it and season the fish in other to make it soft because it took the seller time to dry it and it is very strong if you don't season it it will be so hard to cut. The sellers dry it well so that it will not spoil in their hand. So I seasoned it for some minutes.

I boil water allow it to boil well
Add the wheat while adding am turning so that it will not stick when it is not done so I keep turning it till it was ready. I then turn it into the serving plate.
