--- The current requirement under lockdown this year is for self-isolation, or social distancing. These are the terms being taught to us this year. And we are all going about our self-quarantine in different ways under our varying lifestyle conditions. It was a foreign concept to us before, although some, like me are already living a happily isolated life – to a degree. I have all the wide open space of nature and the ocean all around me already so it was easy for me to adopt the new lifestyle conditions that came with lockdown. It may not be as easy for others around the world to isolate themselves. Particularly when you live in a home with many more family members, or in an apartment block with many neighbors. It’s not easy to put ourselves into the shoes of another across the world. And yet all of us have been given this new social etiquette to follow, regardless of out time, place or culture. I have all the space I could require here on the deep south coast of Africa. My small village has some friends with whom I socialize, but I can choose to be alone in nature any time I wish. In other nations you may have a denser population, or in a city you may be more congested. That must be tricky for social distancing. Even the concept of social distancing is so foreign to us as humans. We are by nature social creatures, and we have grown up in a family until ideally. The original concept of the family with two parents, some grand parents and uncles or aunts – all of that has been deliberately eroded over the past decades. Women were made to feel dissatisfied at home, with the feminist movement, and as a result they strove to leave the home for a career. This robbed the children of the maternal parenting that is so important to them. In this way the strength of the family unit was eroded and usurped. It was replaced by a fragmented culture and society, where divorce was made to be common place or normal, when in fact it is destructive to the growing children. In this way the youth were raised without the foundation of a healthy family and even their religion was usurped in some nations where the socialist or communist ideology had infiltrated even further. That is the goal of the decades long communist plan to erode the healthy social foundations, undermine them and gradually dissolve the social cohesion needed for a healthy life. Add to that the idea of pushing the state or political party as the new parent or deity, and you have communism as it is seen today in China. Furthermore, this ideology is being pushed into USA and all the first world nations globally right now, especially under the new lockdown dispensation. This new ideology is being taught in schools to kids without the knowledge of their parents. One day these kids will become adults and they will be full indoctrinated into accepting the new communist social dynamic as if it were normal. Part of this same push toward loss of individuality is taking place by forcing us to wear the mask. This dehumanising practice is distancing us from each other even more. Well many of my educated friends here in sunny South Africa are completely opposed to the mask and of course the lockdown. I can’t stand the mask for more than a few seconds. Immediately I feel the oxygen depletion, which is so damaging to children and unhealthy for all of us. The mask is more detrimental than no mask. I have heard from doctors who decry the mask, calling it bad for the health. Lockdown is also bad for the mental and physical health. When I explore the seaside cliffs, I don’t need a mask. So thankfully I still have a sense of freedom and individuality. I recommend that you tap in wherever you are, to the beauty of nature. Breathe the fresh air and bask in the sun’s rays. If there is going to be a second wave then I had better get my surfboard ready to ride it out. --- ▶️ [3Speak](https://3speak.co/watch?v=julianhorack/qqockusp)
