//Pressure of Life//
Following on from my feel good and live good post about ginger, I think it would be great to look at some other areas of health and the daily habits we can improve to make a positive difference. One of the biggest indicators of health is blood pressure, often taken as systolic against diastolic. The former is a measure of force that is exerted against the arteries per beat. The latter is a measurement between each beat. Regulating blood pressure is important and both high and low readings can indicate an issue that needs to be addressed.//High Blood Pressure//
There are a number of symptoms related to irregular blood pressure readings. Hypertension is another way of saying high blood pressure and there are a number of subtle symptoms that can go unnoticed and it’s best to get a reading on a regular basis. So even if you feel healthy, a check is needed to ensure things are okay. If a person suffers from hypertension, a number of lifestyle changes can be made to help remedy and regulate blood pressure. An obvious choice would be to eat healthily and exercise. These are key in achieving a healthier cardiovascular system. Alcohol can also contribute to blood pressure issues and should be avoided. High sodium is also part of this too along with other stimulants and damaging habits such as smoking. Sleeping well and leading a healthy diet can effectively help to reduce blood pressure and it’s important to keep on top of this.//Low Blood Pressure//
Low blood pressure readings are referred to those who are experiencing hypotension. Symptoms include lethargy, disorientation, feeling sick and general dizziness. Sometimes people who stand up too quick can feel an instant spell of dizziness, another form of the condition known as postural hypotension. For people suffering from hypotension, an effort to supplement the diet with sufficient sodium and support the body to actively flow blood around the body is needed. Taking time to move and eating smaller yet frequent meals can work well for regulating blood pressure. Drinking water is also a great way to help solve hypotension if the body is dehydrated.
