**Hello Steemit Community** Who doesn't want to stay healthy and active in old age? Even though age is no longer young, everyone clearly wants to live 'free'. Free to move without problems, free from health problems, and free to be happy in old age. Want to know the secret? Check out the following tips! As we get older, bodily functions will decrease. This is then related to various health problems such as fatigue, osteoporosis and easy fall, constipation, and various chronic diseases (such as diabetes and heart disease). The World Health Organization states that some health problems commonly experienced in the elderly include hearing loss, vision problems, neck and back pain, joint disorders and pain, respiratory system disorders, diabetes, and dementia. It is important to note, running a healthy diet in old age will be very beneficial. A healthy and balanced diet will be able to help meet daily nutritional needs, achieve and maintain body weight within the normal range, reduce the risk of various chronic diseases (such as diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension), and help to stay energized during activities. Therefore, it is not an exaggeration to say that healthy eating is one of the main pillars to be able to stay healthy and happy in old age. ***Here are some healthy eating patterns that need to be run***?

**Expand Fiber** Fruits, vegetables, and whole grains (such as oats, whole grains, and brown rice) are a useful source of fiber to maintain digestive tract health and prevent constipation. Vary and combine various kinds of fruits and vegetables with different types and colors, such as green vegetables, papaya, bananas, oranges, apples, grapes, or pears. **Inadequate Protein** Protein is useful for maintaining muscle mass which is important for preventing falls. Choose healthy sources of protein such as eggs, low-fat milk, fish or nuts. **Meet the Needs of Calcium and Vitamin D** Calcium and vitamin D such as milk, processed dairy products, green vegetables, and several types of fish are important for maintaining healthy bones. **Limit your intake of sugar, salt and fat** High consumption of sugar, salt and fat is associated with weight problems and various chronic diseases. In addition, frequent consumption of foods high in sugar, salt, and fat can also reduce the intake of foods rich in nutrients that are important for health. **Exercise Routine to Always Be Active** Old age is not a barrier to staying active and exercising regularly. In fact, regular exercise in old age can actually provide many health benefits including helping to regulate body weight, reduce the risk of chronic diseases, maintain muscle mass, maintain healthy bones and joints, maintain heart fitness and respiratory system, and reduce the risk of falls. If you are just starting to exercise, do it slowly and gradually. Also make sure to warm up and stretch before and after exercising. **Warm Greetings, Don't Delay Happiness** By:@alexanderishak
