Hello dear Steemians.

Turmeric is one of the many spices that are part of the curry and today they gave me a little bit to enjoy it in my meals. However, I did not stay calm, because I had already heard that this rhizome also provides flavor, natural properties to prevent some diseases. For that reason, this publication aims to describe its benefits for our organism. #
Turmeric is native to India. There is written evidence that shows that its use dates back to 4000 years before Christ. It is suggested that its use is to treat joint ailments. Its name derives from the word kartuma (Sanskrit). Over time it was crossed by different linguistic transformations and passed to Kurkum and, later, it is named as it is currently known: turmeric. # The cultivation of this is done in tropical and subtropical areas. It needs a clayey soil, but with good drainage. It requires warm climates and frequent watering. Its harvest is obtained seven months after its cultivation being the time to pick them when their leaves and stem are dry. Once harvested, the rhizomes are cooked, dried and crushed to get a fine powder. # This was used, first to dye fabrics and then used as a food coloring, and in the cosmetic and medicinal field. Likewise, turmeric is used in India for the celebration of marriages and births as symbols of good luck and protection. # Mainly, in natural medicine, it is used to treat digestive, hepatic, rheumatoid, joint, anti-inflammatory problems, to treat respiratory processes (asthma, bronchitis, allergies), sprains and strains. This is because turmeric has an active ingredient called curcumin, which is responsible for making improvements in these conditions and ailments. # All this allows me to affirm that we are facing a powerful spice that can help us stay healthy, however, it is good to control the excesses, because we do not want to have problems with it.
