Settling back into the nest after being on the road for a while has been great! I have taken a bit of time to *digest* all of our experiences while on the road. We spent wonderful time visiting parts of the United States we haven’t seen before as well as making great memories with family.
We met new friends too!
*** >While visiting @mountainjewel we were introduced to a wonderful couple, Gene and Chris GeRue. We were invited to their home for dinner. Dinner was amazing (I’ll share more about that later) but the conversation and fellowship we experienced was memorable. We shared much in common (we all love @mountainjewel) but the greatest surprise was finding out Gene was an author! *** >I don’t know about you, but I truly admire those who are able to write. It is such a gift! Many attempt to write by simply throwing words on paper. I feel a true Author writes with words which resonate with you, words you’ll think about for a long time. ***
Words which may change your direction in life…
***
You see, Gene Ge Rue writes about finding your ideal place, your perfect home…
Have you ever thought about your ideal place?
*What is your ideal place? Where do you feel happiest and healthiest, both physically and spiritually?*
*Where do you thrive?*
*** >Gene shares his experience in real estate and teaching, planning, researching and finding his ideal place. He has lived in his country home for 28 years and delightfully shares life’s wisdom with you, the reader. It’s truly beautiful! ***
*** >The words he writes will speak to your heart, the principles will apply regardless of your location. He shares stories and history, all in terms we all can understand. He asks good questions and delivers great answers, laced with his wonderful spirit and sense of joy. ***
Why is this so meaningful to me?
Because we also spent many years searching for our “*place*” The place that feels like home!
*** >Mr. Bird and I began searching for our special place many years ago traveling all over the United States. Interestingly enough we have applied many of the principles Gene shares in his book! That is what made meeting him so special. He speaks of the importance of being true to yourself, listening to your heart! ***
*** >Our love for nature started when we were young, even our days dating were spent outdoors, hiking and enjoying nature. Spending time with Nature is such a vital part of good health and healthy living. We knew our special place had to be close to nature. And so, our journey began... ***
We spent time in Arizona, seeing the Red Rocks of Sedona…
Taos, New Mexico was another potential home!
And Upstate Michigan, just to name a few…
*** >We have traveled many miles, hiked and explored and spent countless hours researching. Gene speaks to all of these areas! We had a wonderful evening with the Ge Rues, lots of laughs and good food. They have indeed found their ideal place, a true testimony to his writing. I was the proud beneficiary of this wonderful book! *** >I would definitely recommend Gene’s book to all of you, I think it applies to all ages and walks of life! Oh by the way, Gene has a great website called *Ruralize* [](http://ruralize.com/) For more information about Gene and his writing, check it out! I think you’ll be pleased! *** *Oh I almost forgot to tell you, remember I mentioned we had dinner with the Author? We did! And guess what?*
He cooked!
*** >Stay tuned, I’ll share about that, more excitement in an already fun day. You won’t be disappointed! I’m so glad you stopped by today. *** *And as always, blessings to you all!*
