This week I was eating out a lot. My kitchen need 2 more weeks to be fully equipped and fitted so I am kind of tired of planning how I could cook our meals.
Also,I am studying every day so i am struggling to plan or think what we fancy eating as a family. In difficult times for us, we need to find the right balance between perfect adherence to diet and exercise and the fulfillment of other duties.
I ate 3-4 meals a day with lots fruit. Apart from simple meals, such as porridge or sandwich, I did not prepare meals alone. I bought few ready meals and happily ate them allπ
While eating out, I tried to make the best possible choice. I noticed during my calorie counting days that the only satisfying meal for me is the one with all food groups on my plate so even when I go out I will always choose:
✅Lean protein sources (e.g. pulses, steak, grilled meat or fish), ✅Complex carbohydrates without added fat (e.g. baked potatoes, wrap or boiled rice, quinoa, groats) ✅ Fat is always in sauces, fish or other products like nuts, avocado or Olives. ✅I change anything I don’t like on the menu for extra vegetables if possible.
I love eating healthily and I don’t have a problem asking waiter to change few things for me to fit my needs.
Actually! I think we all should ask more often, maybe this would help them see that there is a larger interest In more nutritious meals. We are controlled by environment way to often these days and I refuse to make it easy for some restaurants π I always eat what I crave without the “cheat meal” mentality. If I would let my mind know that we can eat as much as I want ,I would probably eat “weeks worth” calories in that one dayπ¬ Not having any diet rules relaxes my mind. Allowing myself the best possible option out there without the fear or other emotions helps me to keep good relationship with food....even if the food I am eating is not healthy sometimes!
I am curious to know, how are you dealing with your dietary needs when eating out?
