Jaggery - the healthy alternative to sugar

Sugar, that sweet tasting crystals can add a sweet tough to your tea, porridge or anything that you like sweet, but it is not definitely the healthier option for your sweet cravings. jaggery, which is made naturally from sugar cane juice is an healthier alternative. I remember when we were kids and had that suddenly urge to have toffees and we didn't have that at home, my mom would remove a big piece of jaggery from her glass container and hand it over to us. That golden coloured piece of jaggery would make us happy.

Not many know that jaggery with being an healthier alternative to sugar also gives strength to the bodyn. Minor ailments like running nose or cough can be treated with jaggery by mixing it with curds or lemon juice. Before sprain relief spray, people used to treat sprain by using mixture of jaggery and clarified butter. I remember my granny once told me that they used jaggery as an wax alternative to get rid of those unwanted body hair. Jaggery is undoubtedly better than sugar, but sadly, people prefer sugar over jaggery. It is time that they educate themselves over the use of that white poison.
