Good vibrations of surfer girls and the beach are fast dwindling. The oceans roar is being replaced with homelessness, drugs, mental illness and disease as epidemic proportions. Surpassing the homelessness of [Seattle](https://main.weku.io/community-deals/@enjoywithtroy2/the-city-of-grunge-is-a-cesspool-of-grunge-enjoy-with-troy), as I reported days ago, is the 53 blocks of Skid Row in LA. Tuberculosis, plague, typhus and typhoid fever is exploding as not seen since for centuries due to rats and fecal contamination. bubonic plague(black death), where fleas bite rats and spread it to humans is already present in LA. Rats have infested city hall and the police station. Over 1000 sex offenders walk the street of LA where kids get beaten and women get raped. Homelessness is up 16 percent in one year. Even Alverado Street and Venice Beach have tents and all the things that come with them. Just like in [Seattle](https://main.weku.io/community-deals/@enjoywithtroy2/the-city-of-grunge-is-a-cesspool-of-grunge-enjoy-with-troy), the LA city council and mayor are ignoring the problem. Although some money has been spent nothing innovative is being done. Yes $620 million was spent to combat homelessness in LA, but what do they have to show for it? Where did the money go? People come to Skid Row not to live but to die. Below is the 6 minute video(the first of two I offer) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9D9pZEjSxXQ >In the modern version being played out today on the streets of Los Angeles and almost every other major city in the state, tens of thousands of the homeless are desperate for shelter, services and of course, drugs. Lots and lots of drugs. Eric Johnson reports on Paradise Lost: Homeless in Los Angeles. # Operation Healthy Streets Operation healthy streets or operation healthy sweeps is used to clean up the trash and drugs. However the homeless feel that many of their possessions are being taken. In most communities the vast majority of homeless live in shelters. However in LA the majority live on the streets with no where to go.Abandon urine container, biological waste and other contamination litter the city. Officers secure a designated area and clean it up. Homeless has risen from 36,000 to 53,000. Homeless are allowed to keep up to 60 gallons of personal belongs. Anything more is tagged and stored at a facility called 'The Bin'. Unclaimed items are destroyed within 90 days. Sweep cleaning is used as a psychological way to get the homeless to move elsewhere. The homeless are also harassed with tickets but most go unpaid and clog up the system. Gangster are taking the homeless to sleep on the sidewalk. Many want the homeless sheltered ...just not next door. This second (final video) is 15 minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D73npZwsttI Humanitarian Crisis In Plain Sight On The Streets Of L.A. | NBC News >Homelessness in L.A. has shot up 47% in just the last few years, from roughly 36,000 in 2012 to 53,000 in 2018. And 75% of L.A.'s homeless live on the streets, leaving the LAPD and Sanitation Department overwhelmed and the homeless with nowhere to go. # One must ask the questions.
