I woke up to “Are you ready to workout?” My mind was screaming NO, but I rolled out of bed because I can not afford not to keep make small changes to my lifestyle and physical health. I love my wife’s sweet voice, but her invitation to workout is hard to hear. Today was leg day. I hate leg day, but strengthening the longest muscles in my body will help me with my overall goal of losing weight and getting strong. As always, there is 10 minutes of cardio and then our normal circuit of exercises. I weighed in at 183.2 pounds this evening (for my #appics post). I normally weigh in the morning and plan to do so the rest of the time for the #getinshapechallenge. My ultimate goal is to get down to 170 pounds and then focus on building lean muscle. If I could drop down to 175 pounds by the end of this six week challenge I would be ecstatic. I was not able to walk laps around the office parking lot today. Too much cold air and too much rain. So I will have to keep being creative to get in extra steps as I move around the office. It is a bit challenging since all all of my job responsibilities are restricted to a desk and my computer. Thank goodness that my Fitbit watch bothers every 50 minutes after the hour to make sure I have gotten in at least 250 steps. Oh, and by the way, there could be 3-5 inches of snow tomorrow. I will have to get extra creative tomorrow. After work, I returned home to eat with my family. Good fuel and portion control is key to my success. And chasing after 6 kiddos also helps me stay on the move. Another long-term goal is to being able to keep up with my children, not just now, but also for many years into the future. I want to be heart, mind, and body healthy. I have been tracking my progress.
