Are The Days Of Our Food Industrial Complex Numbered?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKQVfheFkok Even mathematics is in favor of veganism/vegetarianism, at the condition to have all the data of course. *For every 100 calories we feed to animals, we receive only 12 calories back by consuming meat and dairy*, contends the Ecologist article at the bottom page, though the latter also argues that allowing animals to roam in the wild again would provide much of the proteins we need. But the question is: what exactly are our needs? We beg to differ, this is a half-truth because Nature will always regulate biodiversity. Nature is never going to reward gluttony nor greed. And once this is understood, we can only move from there while respecting the boundaries of the ecosystem. And because we never really grasped that, everything we have done to the environment and ourselves has grown out of whack accordingly, leading us to an unprecedented breakpoint. In 2018 UNESCO proposed to prosecute climate criminals and climate deniers, they must be brought to justice’ at International Criminal Court. Again, we beg to differ: the death of science is the real climate emergency! Every ecocide narrates the story of monetized science that went wrong. From the petroleum and chemical to biotech industries. But when are scientists going to ask for a system change and the demise of Wallstreet? When is going biotech to stand trial for crimes against humanity spreading junk food and other various toxic food additives all over the planet? We are all for endorsing personal responsibility but that doesn't mean to let mass murderers run loose and lauding them for making billion dollars salaries while 80% of the population gets sicker by the days. > Deconstructing Industrial Food Sickness https://www.thehealthyhomeeconomist.com/deconstructing-industrial-food-sickness/ A study like this one below should make big headlines everywhere but it won't because society works in reverse and promotes only what is dumbing down, unhealthy and destructive. They get what they want with lots of advertising (watch the video at the top of this page) and credit cards. But interestingly trends are pushing us toward the "degrowth scenario" that we want it or not. Meanwhile, it is our duty to educate those around us as much as possible, even is it feels like a herculean task. We believe that it will pay off in due time if we take advantage of the gathering storm. ### FURTHER READINGS Hippocampal-dependent appetitive control is impaired by experimental exposure to a Western-style diet | February 2020 > Animals fed a Western-style diet (WS-diet) demonstrate rapid impairments in hippocampal function and poorer appetitive control. We examined if this also occurs in humans. One-hundred and ten healthy lean adults were randomized to either a one-week WS-diet intervention or a habitual-diet control group. Measures of hippocampal-dependent learning and memory (HDLM) and of appetitive control were obtained pre- and post-intervention. HDLM was retested at three-week follow-up. Relative to controls, HDLM performance declined in the WS-diet group (d = 0.43), but was not different at follow-up. Appetitive control also declined in the WS-diet group (d = 0.47) and this was strongly correlated with HDLM decline (d = 1.01). These findings demonstrate that a WS-diet can rapidly impair appetitive control in humans—an effect that could promote overeating in consumers of a WS-diet. The study also suggests a functional role for the hippocampus in appetitive control and provides new evidence for the adverse neurocognitive effects of a WS-diet. https://royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/10.1098/rsos.191338 According to researchers, this is very much the case. Gluttonous diets in the West could transform otherwise healthy and slim young people into mildly scatter-brained overeaters. The new study, published in the journal Royal Society Open Science, is among the first studies looking into how the Western diet impairs memory and appetite control in humans. The results of the research are shocking and show how high-fat, high-sugar diets caused volunteers to perform worse on memory tests while nursing a continuous craving for junk food even after they had finished a meal. In fact, the desire for junk food only grew after they had eaten the meal. https://www.wakingtimes.com/2020/02/21/new-study-shows-how-eating-a-western-diet-impairs-brain-function-and-leads-to-overeating/ Animal agriculture is an inefficient way of producing food, as for every 100 calories we feed to animals, we receive only 12 calories back by consuming their flesh and milk. https://theecologist.org/2019/apr/17/converting-animal-farmland-forest
